Master Sapp and Family |
Master Sapp's early years began in Macon Georgia where he lived until reaching his twenties. It was during this time that he developed a deep interest in the martial arts, specifically Tae kwon-do. In 1973 at the age of 17, Master Sapp began his Tae kwon do training with Randy Burch 1st degree. Running parallel to this effort, Master E.C. Ahn, originally from North Korea, opened a do jang (training hall) in Macon Georgia teaching traditional Tae kwon-do. Consequently, Master Sapp continued his early years of training under the tutelage of Master E.C. Ahn. Master Sapp received his 1st degree October 26, 1974. On that same day, he opened the Warner Robins Karate Academy (WRKA). Master Sapp recalls those early days as difficult with numerous challenges saying, “During the early years, my first Tae kwon do school was an old building without heating or air conditioning.” In those days, the Warner Robins Karate Academy, was small with few students. Master Sapp's perseverance during the lean years, was the driving force behind the Warner Robins Taekwondo Academy’s success. Due to Master Sapp’s dedication and continuous training, in 1983, Grand Master E.C. Ahn appointed Master Sapp the Vice President of the Hae San Martial Arts Association. Then in 1988, Master Sapp was inducted into the International Karate and Kickboxing Hall of Fame located in Cleveland Ohio. Presently, the Warner Robins Karate Academy is the oldest and finest martial arts school in Warner Robins Georgia. It represents the standard for martial arts in the Middle Georgia area. Master Sapp has 36 years of experience teaching traditional Tae kwon-do, producing numerous Grand Champions, Forms and demonstration team champions.
